2011 gets off to a strong start

Geneva, 8 March 2011 – ACI's Paxflash report for January 2011 indicates a global increase in passenger traffic of 7.1% compared to 2010. The increase was driven by strong growth in both international (+7.8%) and domestic traffic (+6.5%) with all regions experiencing positive growth. Emerging markets were once again the main motor of global traffic growth (Asia: +9% international and +11.2% domestic) but the more mature European and North American markets also experienced robust growth (Europe:+8.3% international and +6.6% domestic).
