Passenger traffic growth resumes in May

Geneva, 7 July 2010 – ACI’s Paxflash report for May indicates that global passenger traffic recovered quickly from the volcanic eruption in April with airports posting a global increase of 7.9% over May 2009. International traffic increased by 10.3% whereas domestic traffic grew at a slower pace (+5.8%) and more importantly, traffic increased accross all regions. However, May 2009 traffic was impacted by the H1N1 flu outbreak which explains the high growth rates in certain regions.
